If you say that a 4-5 section length of track is OK, but that you get a short 
when you complete a circle of track, then you need to find the section of 
track that is causing the short. I assume that you can run a locomotive all 
right on the 4-5 section length. Start with the good 4-5 section length and 
add one section at a time to it. Check after adding each section whether you 
can operate OK or not. After you add the piece that causes the short, remove 
it and check it for the short. If you can fix it, fine. If not, scrap it and 
use another good piece in its place.
