This has already been fixed in s3cmd 0.9.8.2. The current stable release
is 0.9.8.3 - I suggest you upgrade to that version.
I don't know who maintains the Fedora package, perhaps you'll want to
use the package that I maintain instead of the "official" Fedora one:
http://s3cmd.org/repo/Fedora_9/noarch/s3cmd-0.9.8.3-2.1.noarch.rpm
You can also save http://s3cmd.org/repo/Fedora_9/s3tools.repo to your
/etc/yum.repos.d to get the latest s3cmd releases in future.
BTW I'm glad that my little script has such a famous user :)
