The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) has just woken up to the existence of Swaziland; it issued a “Swaziland Profile” a few hours ago, that got listed on Google News. It is at http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-14095706. When you click the tab labelled “Leaders” on that page, you get only one leader: Mswati III. The BBC breathlessly gushes that the swindling polygamist dictator “is known as Ngweyama – ‘the lion’”. Aunty BBC knows that she is not supposed to give “the oxygen of publicity” (Margaret Thatcher’s phrase) to the wrong sort of people. The BBC also knows that in the first post-liberation election, having a “name”, being known by name, could be critical. It will be hoping to have names to conjure with, of individuals who are safely right-wing. The BBC will be hoping that any revolutionaries will keep their heads down. It is the time to “come out”, comrades. It is the time for the masses to be able to see clearly who is who and what is what, like Chris Hani did in South Africa after 1990. Not only should the revolutionaries come out and as far as possible legalise themselves, but also they should “out” the other players. The outing of Freedom House was a good example of what needs to be done. The coming out and public declaration of the Communist Party of Swaziland was a good example. -- NEW!!!!
