Die Ausstellung Verbotene Liebe: Kunst im Sog von Fernsehen untersucht
Fernsehen als potentiell offenen Prozess, als Raum des Ringens um
Aufmerksamkeit,
der Selbstdarstellung und des Affektes, der den Diskurs um Identität,
Geschlecht
und Differenz als Ort der Politik popularisiert. Wie erleben heute
KünstlerInnen,
die sich für Fernsehen eher aus einer beiläufigen Rezeptionshaltung heraus
und für
dessen (pop-)kulturelle Imageproduktionen interessieren, diese wirkmächtige
Alte
Tante? Der Kölnische Kunstverein zeigt zeitgleich eine gleichnamige
Ausstellung mit
weiteren künstlerischen Positionen, die von einem gemeinsamen Katalog
begleitet wird.
The exhibition Forbidden Love: Art in the Wake of Television Camp analyses
television as a reactive and open process, as a space of the struggling for
attention, of self-expression and affect, which popularises the discourse
around
identity, gender and difference. How do artists, who rather receive
television
casually and from a consumer-oriented point of view, and are interested in
its (pop)
cultural image production and in it as a space of politics, experience this
powerful
old lady nowadays? At the same time, Kölnischer Kunstverein shows a
homonymous exhibition with other artistic positions. Both exhibitions are
documented by one catalogue.
