At February 1st, Rainer Prohaska moved into the Kunstpavillon and scince then,
he lives inside this artspace and works on an installation, called 'Résidence
Modulaire', part of the 'Toy-Kit Architecture'* – series.
This large-scale and multiple usable installation oscillates between functional
interiors and clear plastic. Its only building-block is made out of wood, it
exists 1120 times and enables therefore a reflection of the concept of
modularity. These blocks having all exact equal dimensions, like 40 mm x 70 mm
x 1000 mm.

* 'Toy-Kit Architecture'
The 'Toy-Kit Architecture' - projects, inspired by component systems in toy
format (Lego, Matador, Fischer technique) consists of prefabricated elements
such as wood profiles and formwork-beams. All connections are established with
screw-clamps and ratchet-tiedowns.
Rainer Prohaska initiates participatory projects, performances, and experiments
with temporary sculptures as architectural interferences. Since 'Creating' as
an aesthetic process is very important in his work, the performative act of
building the 'Toy-Kit Architectures' plays an important role.
