„Migrazija-yeah-yeah...“ – WIENWOCHE 2014: wie Migration uns alle verändert.

WIENWOCHE findet im Herbst 2014 (12. bis 27. September) zum dritten Mal statt.
In den ersten zwei Jahren erregten Projekte wie die Bleibeführer_in , der
Wiener Bettelbeauftragte, das Archiv der Migration, Wahlwexel jetzt! ,
wastecooking’s free supermarket oder die Gehörgänge viel Aufsehen. 2014 setzt
WIENWOCHE ihre Arbeit an der Schnittstelle von Kunst und gesellschaftlichem
Engagement unter dem Titel „Migrazija-yeah-yeah...“ fort.
„Mehr als ein Pass in der Tasche, mehr als eine Sprache auf der Zunge, mehr als
eine Geschichte im Kopf, mehr als gelungene Integration im Zeugnis – was die
Migration aus der „Nation“ macht, ist inspirierend, spannend, stärkend,
verunsichernd. Migration macht das Leben nicht un-, sondern urcool.“, so
beschreiben die WIENWOCHE-Leiter_innen Petja Dimitrova, Can Gülcü und Radostina
Patulova ihren Ausgangspunkt für das Thema. Im Mittelpunkt von WIENWOCHE 2014
stehen also Themen, die die gesamte Gesellschaft betreffen und nicht bloß
einzelne Gruppen: Arbeit, Freiheit, Geschichte, Liebe, Schule...
Die Ausschreibung richtet sich an alle, die Österreich als Einwanderungsland
begreifen. Projekte von WIENWOCHE sollen sich kritisch mit den Veränderungen
der Gesellschaft auseinandersetzen. Sie sollen ästhetisch, kämpferisch,
kontrovers, lustig, politisch, radikal und sozial sein. Sie können in
etablierten oder bisher übersehenen Räumen stattfinden und sollen hinterfragen,
ärgern, begeistern und verändern.
„Nicht die Migration ist das Problem, sondern jene, die sie zum Grund für alle
Probleme erklären. Die Projekte sollen zeigen, dass der Wunsch nach einem
besseren Leben nur wahr werden kann, wenn alle ihn verwirklichen können“, so
das Leitungsteam von WIENWOCHE.
WIENWOCHE lädt Einzelne, Gruppen oder Initiativen ein, ihre Projektideen bis 2.
Februar 2014 einzureichen.

WIENWOCHE will take place for the third time in the autumn of 2014 (12 to 27

Vienna Beggar Representative, the Archive of Migration, WahlweXel jetzt! ,
wastecooking’s free supermarket , or the Auditory Tours caused quite a stir.
In 2014 WIENWOCHE will continue its work at the interface of art and social
engagement under the title of "Migrazija-yeah-yeah"
"More than a passport in one’s pocket, more than a language on the tongue,
more than a history in the memory, more than a certificate proving successful
integration – what migration creates from the "Nation" is inspiring, exciting,
strengthening, unsettling. Migration does not make life un-cool, but rather,
uber-cool.”, this is how the WIENWOCHE curatorial team of Petja Dimitrova, Can
Gülcü and Radostina Patulova describe their starting point for the topic.
Consequently, at the heart of WIENWOCHE 2014 are topics which concern the whole
of society and not just particular groups: work, freedom, history, love, school…
The open call is directed at all those who understand Austria as a land of
immigration. WIENWOCHE projects should critically confront the changes in
society. They should be aesthetic, combative, controversial, joyful, political,
radical and social. They can take place in established or in previously ignored
spaces and should question, annoy, enthuse and seek to change.
"It is not migration that is the problem, but those who blame it for every
problem. The projects should demonstrate that the desire for a better life can
only be fulfilled if everyone is allowed to make it happen", say the WIENWOCHE
curatorial team.
WIENWOCHE invites individuals, groups or initiatives to submit their ideas for
projects by 2 February 2014.
