R used to be integrated with Sage, but it's now a completely optional package.
Only rpy2 is a part of installation.
I defer to the people who actually runs the server for details.

Given R Project resources, would it be willing to run a sage-cell server, with 
more emphasis on R/python/sage etc integration?
