No surprise. The problem with #12215 and related tickets (#715, #11521, #12313) is that some memory corruptions in libsingular become immanent only when the garbage collection works properly - hence, before being able to merge #12215 stably into sage, one needs to fix some bugs in (lib)singular, part of which seem to be upstream bugs.
