Is the java3d API easy to install on most modern computers?  If so,
I think we should definitely use it for SAGE.   I want SAGE to be
technically incredible.   The true purpose of the notebook has also
been to provide a GUI for SAGE -- it's not to be a service like
gmail or something.  If users have to also install the java3d api,
and it is not difficult to install, then it is a reasonable option.
If it is a major nightmare to install, that is a different story.

Is the java3d api Sun's property?  If so, I think that means it will
be GPL'd, which is good.
