Yes, I just discovered yesterday, that python2.6 breaks sympy:

http://code.google.com/p/sympy/issues/detail?id=1115

So it's probably a good idea to try it on other packages as well. It's
sad that python2.6 is not backwards compatible, but hopefully it will
be easy to fix it.
