I wasn't clear on my first report that I was using *64-bit* Kubuntu,
and I've now run

sage -t -long "devel/sage/sage/graphs/graph.py"

which passed all tests.  So it may be a 32-bit/64-bit distinction on
this failure.

Maybe this could be traced to

http://trac.sagemath.org/sage_trac/ticket/6085

though that was merged in 4.1.alpha1?
