Yes you should. That's an easy way to fix the above failure.

On sage.math, I have compiled all the source releases of the 4.x
series. I can confirm that upgrading on a 64-bit Ubuntu machine
(sage.math is such a machine) from 4.1 to 4.1.1 results in a similar
error as you reported above.
