Actually, I am not so very deep in the technical details. But I know, that Alberto's constructions are always technically superb. Moreover, it seems to me, that the code is not tied too much with RUM. So, if you use it for the Sage notebook, I will be glad to separate this part out of RUM, to minimize your dependencies.
