For reference, here are some instructions for increasing the limit,
kindly provided by Maple
(http://www.maplesoft.com/support/faqs/detail.aspx?sid=32748). In each
of these cases, we are just setting the java plugin to use 200M of
memory by specifying the startup parameter "-Xmx200M"

Linux: type "ControlPanel" in the terminal, which runs the java control
panel. Go to "Java", then "View", then edit the Runtime Parameters to
include "-Xmx200M" to increase the limit to 200M

Mac: Go to Applications/Utilities/Java/Java Plugin Settings and change
the Java Runtime Parameters to include "-Xmx200M"

Windows: In the Control Panel, run "Java Plug-in". Go to the advanced
tab (or maybe the "Java" tab?). Modify the runtime parameters to
include "-Xmx200M"

I just upped my memory limit to 200M and easily was able to handle 20 3d
plots in a worksheet (which still left 80M free, so it took 120M).

Thanks,

Jason
