Ah, well I should be using the Sage Fortran. I think I misunderstood README.txt's comment about Fortran implying that I needed to install Fortran. Does ECL have dependencies on Fortran somewhere through other packages like GMP? I am assuming the weirdness pointed by Juanjo is due to this. I will try rebuilding without the external Fortran.
