I had no problem on linux or a mac running 10.5. But on my 10.6.2 I
get this:
I can't seem to build 4.3.5 on OS X 10.6.2. Here is the tail of my

explaining the problem and send the relevant part of
of /Volumes/E/sage-4.3.5/install.log. Describe your computer,
operating system, etc.
If you want to try to fix the problem yourself, *don't* just cd to
/Volumes/E/sage-4.3.5/spkg/build/freetype-2.3.5.p2 and type 'make
check' or whatever is appropriate.
Instead, the following commands setup all environment variables
correctly and load a subshell for you to debug the error:
(cd '/Volumes/E/sage-4.3.5/spkg/build/freetype-2.3.5.p2' && '/Volumes/
E/sage-4.3.5/sage' -sh)
When you are done debugging, you can type "exit" to leave the
subshell.
