If I want, I can create a C program, then using the Mathlink protoco http://www.wolfram.com/solutions/mathlink/mathlink.html call Mathematica from my C program. As far as I know, Sage has no such facility. I've sure we could call Sage via something like "system", but that's not exactly the same sort of thing. Is this on the Sage roadmap?
