Python 2's division for integers is also quite unsuitable for a
computer algebra system:

But Sage fixes this:

sage: 1/2
1/2

Since floor division is still available, I don't think this is a
problem.  Eventually, it will make code cleaner because if you want
"true division" in Python2, you need something like "a/float(b)".  I'm
fundamentally opposed to changing something as basic as arithmetic in
a language, but the __future__ is inevitable, so we might as well
accept it.
