Apparently Sage died previously in galrep_ec_modl_image(3, -432, 8208, 0)
inside the C code. I think it would be prudent to write a small standalone C program that just does that call into galrep and then test it under valgrind. If there are no memory access violations then I would agree that the bug must have been somewhere else (Cython, perhaps) and was apparently fixed in the meantime.
