I also noticed that the valgrind package is old; In particular it doesn't even compile on Fedora 14. But then its such a commonly-used tool that its already on every machine that is used for software development. The fact that nobody every complained about the outdated valgrind spkg should probably be taken as a sign that nobody needs it.
