Well it seems to finish anyway and produce almost good results on sage-
math. Perhaps in very small installations of LaTeX it will completely
halt.

It may be a good idea then to have a "full LaTeX" on the machine that
is used for producing documentation for the site and binary releases
and perhaps have some instructions in the development guide which
version of LaTeX with which packets should be used as a reference when
checking new patches, even if it is just for a concrete OS (but
something free and wide-spread like Ubuntu).
