I was installing two optional spkgs, gap_packages and database_gap
onto a new Sage install on a new machine. The second one
(database_gap) failed:
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/home/jec/packages/sage-5.11.rc0/local/bin/sage-eval", line
13, in <module>
eval(compile(s,'<cmdline>','exec'))
File "<cmdline>", line 1, in <module>
File
"/home/jec/packages/sage-5.11.rc0/local/lib/python2.7/site-packages/sage/interfaces/gap.py",
line 1481, in gap_reset_workspace
for F in os.listdir(GAP_DIR):
OSError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/home/jec/.sage/gap'
but succeeded after I created ~/.sage/gap manually. To me this looks
like a bug in database_gap's install scripts. The maintinaers are
listed as
* William Stein
* Robert Miller
* David Joyner
* Dmitrii Pasechnik
Any comments?
John
