Uh oh. Splendid. License discussion (again).

Since "GPL v3+" is not compatible with "GPL v2" (without "+"), a change
from GPL v2+ to GPL v3+ would mean a change to a more restrictive license.

IIRC, Sage-the-library always was intended to be "GPL v2+", while
Sage-the-distribution might have incorporated "GPL v3+" parts by now, but
note that IIRC Singular has a license "either GPL v2 or GPL v3" which would
rule out something as a (not existing at the moment) GPL v4.

Not that I personally really would care if Sage-the-library would (have)
change(d) from "GPL v2+" to "GPL v3+" (or to "two-clause BSD", or to
"Apache v2.0").

But above all, the license situation should be crystal clear!!

So please someone either give a pointer to when and where it was decided
that "Sage-the-library" has become "GPL v3+"ed and adjust the "COPYING.txt"
file accordingly, or else please someone adjust the documentation place
that Jeroen mentioned (67a76032 ?! I didn't follow that pointer.)
(I might volunteer to do that resp. do the review ... but we need an
unanimous agreement first.)

Cheers,
Georg
