If you have linux and gaim, I think you do the following:
1. start gaim,
2. create an account for yourself - choosing a login, password, etc
I'm not sure how secure this password needs to be.
3. from the "buddy list" window, select "buddies" then "join a chat"
4. enter your login, password, and #SAGE-dev for the channel.
5. a new window pops up . Tiy type messages into the lower half of it.
On the right, the list of people in the "room" appears.

There was some news months ago about the aol messenger being insecure in
windows.
IIRC, it was a problem with the service on port 35. Has this been resolved?
Does anyone know if this is resolved now or if it is a problem in linux?
