Well in my humble opinion both the Mathematica and Matlab solutions you
like are misleading:   they give the real and complex solutions to x^2-x
= plus-or-minus 3;  but if complex solutions are allowed then there are
many more than the pair which those systems give, since there are many
more *complex* numbers whose modulus is 3 than +3 and -3.

So I (for one) would be unhappy if SAGE gave the same solutions as those
two inferior systems!
