Hi all, I am an undergraduate student double majoring in mathematics and computer science at the American University in Cairo. I am currently taking a topology course. I am interested to work with Sage on either Topology projects or Matroid theory. I would appreciate it if you can guide me to decide on my exact project.
Matroid theory: I think Chao Xu already posted about connectivity algorithms in matroid theory. So I though of building the other miscellaneous milestones for extending matroid theory in Sage such as automorphisms and certificates and improving its catalog. What do you think? I just want to avoid duplication in proposals so that the sage community benefits as much as possible. Topology: Another project would be to start writing code related to topology in Sage. I think this would involve representing topological, deciding whether a space is topological, homeorphism, connectedness and path-connectedness. It can also deal with metrics and metric spaces. If there is a potential mentor interested in this, we can dive into more details. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "sage-gsoc" group.
