Dear sage-nt readers, There is some new functionality related to modular forms that I implemented recently and to which I would like to draw potential reviewers' attention:
- Twists of newforms <http://trac.sagemath.org/ticket/18086> - Implement (correct) action of Atkin-Lehner operators on newforms <http://trac.sagemath.org/ticket/18061> Both of my students independently encountered problems that would be solved by these tickets, so they have a high priority for me. Both tickets implement parts of the well-known work of Atkin, Lehner and Li. The second ticket depends on the first one and also on the following two minor improvements: - Fix and simplify comparison of modular forms <http://trac.sagemath.org/ticket/18068> - Base extension for Dirichlet groups and characters via maps <http://trac.sagemath.org/ticket/18072> Here are two further general improvements to Dirichlet characters (independent of the above tickets): - Speed up NumberField_generic.zeta() and DirichletGroup() <http://trac.sagemath.org/ticket/15486> - Check consistency when constructing Dirichlet characters <http://trac.sagemath.org/ticket/17283> Finally, I would like to advertise two very simple bugfixes that are unrelated to modular forms: - Fix underlying permutation group of decomposition group <http://trac.sagemath.org/ticket/17664> - Singular crashes when reducing a polynomial modulo a prime of a number field <http://trac.sagemath.org/ticket/17964> If one or more people reading this could spare some time to review any of the above tickets, that would be greatly appreciated!
