For me,  using --enable-sagemath_sirocco switch results in a very broken sage, 
it crashes on startup. So the classic build just doesn't seem to work for 
sirocco sage interface, full stop.

it's not documented, but meson build of sagelib works at ./sage --buildsh 
prompt.
However, to get sirocco interface built correctly, one might need
