I definitely do *not* think that will do.  We should

 (1) send an email to both sage-forum and sage-newbie announcing that
the lists will be closed, and all people signed up for them should instead
sign up for sage-support,

 (2) then close by sage-forum and sage-newbie in one week, so that
*all* messages to those two groups bounce.
