Dear Friends, I have recently aquired sage and im having difficulties using the notebook with firefox.
Here is my spec: OS: Windows XP (latest version) Sage Version: SAGE Version 3.0.1, Release Date: 2008-05-05 Using VMware player. After typing the notebook command into the VMware player, it tells me to open firefox at the ip address 192.230.168.128. However when I do this I get the following webpage: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ERROR The requested URL could not be retrieved While trying to retrieve the URL: http://192.168.230.128/ The following error was encountered: The network address of the resource you are trying to access lies within RFC 1918 private address space. This means that it is not accessible via the public internet. Generated Mon, 23 Jun 2008 09:55:48 GMT by wwwcache1.bris.ac.uk (squid/ 2.6.STABLE6) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ However rather confusingly, I can get notebook to work fine using internet explorer. But of course I would much rather be using firefox! Im guessing this is a network problem at my end, and I was wondering if anyone has come across this problem before and knows how to fix it? Thanks!
