There are some packages to deal with ldap in Python; for example in
Ubuntu 8.04:
python-ldap - An LDAP interface module for Python
python-ldap-dbg - An LDAP interface module for Python (debug extension)
directoryassistant - small LDAP address book manager
luma - gui utility for accessing and managing LDAP database
python-ldaptor - Pure-Python library for LDAP

The first one seems to be a simple wrapper to libldap. I'll try to
understand how it works. Then, the most tricky (maybe) will come: how to
integrate it in Sage... be then, there will be somme help :-)

But if anyone as a working solution, it will be much better!
