sage: var('x,y') sage: plot3d(sin(x*y),(x,-1,1),(y,-1,1)).show() This launches jmol, and one is able to rotate the shape. One can also save the image and then import the saved image into Texmacs
sage: var('x,y') sage: plot3d(sin(x*y),(x,-1,1),(y,-1,1)).show(viewer='tachyon') launches a viewer (eog) of a file in format png. one can also save and then import. However, the behaviour for 2d plots is nice in that it immediatly includes it in the text.
