Hi,

After downloading software I really like having hashes (md5,sha1,
etc.) and better yet a cryptographic signature (GPG) to verify that
the file isn't corrupted (either due to faulty transmission or worse
yet a security breach). I don't feel comfortable downloading from a
mirror site without a good way of verifying the downloaded file.

I have found md5sums.txt files for sage binaries but are these hashes
also available somewhere for sage source tarballs and packages? If so,
could they be placed more prominently on the download page so that
they are easier to find? If not, who can I most effectively nag to get
this feature (important in my view) implemented?

Thanks,

Paul Rombouts
