Oh dear, I just realised I missed the main point:

(1) -> binomial(-7,1)$EXPR INT

   (1)  - 7
                                                    Type: Expression(Integer)
(2) -> binomial(-7,1)

   (2)  0
                                                     Type: NonNegativeInteger
