Hi BB,

you will find Lyx already included into the current live CD, as well
as Octave for those who need to run some
matlab scripts.

Frugal install is really easy to upgrade, because the whole
installation consists only of a couple of files.
But if you have limited RAM and hardware capacity maybe full install
is the better option.
