He asked for the roots of the polynomial
(1 + O(3^5))*t^2 + (1 + 2*3 + 2*3^2 + 2*3^3 + 2*3^4 + O(3^5))*t + (1 +
O(3^5))
which is not the same as asking for the roots of the polynomial
t^2 - 2*t + 1
