To be sure, you might want to install Sage from source. This should work 
with Sage 7.1, although it's probably not tested.
Also, there are no ready to use up to date Sage binaries for OSX 10.10 we 
make available, as we do not have a OSX 10.10 machines at our disposal.

You might be better off updating to 10.11...
