You can always download the worksheets into files and save them to some reasonable place. (With an open worksheet such an option is in File menu, I think). Normally it's a file with .sws extension. And you can do the opposite, load a worksheet from a file. I'd recommend to install a new version of Sage, not to upgrade the existing one (an upgrade from such an old version won't be possible anyway).
