"sage -n" is a hack.

I'd have tried using conda's jupyter notebook directly (i.e. conda
package notebook)
https://jupyter.org/install
(perhaps it's already installed once sage is installed)

I guess it knows about sage's jupyter kernel, so you can choose the
kernel once you launched notebook.
