$14,300/ton, on supply-side issues after Indonesia closed a number of small
smelters on allegations they were purchasing tin ore illegally, damaging the
environment, and evading taxes. "We are really beginning to see the effect now
of the Indonesian short falls," a broker says, noting canceled warrants of
three-month tin have left 8,800 tons in LME warehouses. "If this trend in stock
withdrawl continues...we could see it even pushing $15,000/ton," he says. Tin
has been on a bull run since the Indonesian clampdown in mid-October. LME
three-month tin traded last at $14,300/ton, up almost 2% on the day. (MBU)
