NICKEL CONTINUES TO RETREAT FROM RECORD HIGHS
Nickel continued to retreat from an all-time high of $50,150 reached earlier
this week. It ended at $46,400, down $400, having dipped as low as $45,700
earlier. It had already fallen 3.5 percent on Wednesday.
As well as profit taking, talks that Chinese stainless steel mills were cutting
back imports of refined nickel due to record-high prices weighed on the metal.
