Swami came for the evening Darshan at 3.00 pm. After the interview, Swami came
to the Ganesh portico and sat on the chair.

Swami : Emi Samacharamu? (What news?) (To the Warden) Are the characters
selected? (For the forthcoming Convocation Drama.)

Warden : No, Swami.

Swami : I have nothing to do with it. You all select them. It is already late;
very less time is available. Practice should start.

Warden : Yes, Swami.

Swami : (To Prasanthi Nilayam Campus Principal, Prof. U. S. Rao) How is your
brother in the Hospital?

Principal : By Swami’s grace, he is fine. Swami only saved him. You have
reduced the impact of the fall, Swami. Otherwise, it would have been fatal.

Swami : Falling down from train is very dangerous. It (the injury) could have
been on the head. Fortunately, it went off with fracture in one leg.

Principal : They are very grateful to You for Your grace, Swami. They used to
come to Parthi since so many years.

Swami : His own devotion has helped to save him. (Changing the topic) Primary
School people have got the electricity bill of Rs.64,000.

Warden : Swami, rates have gone up from Rs.2.30 to Rs.4.50 per unit. Even our
Hostel electricity charges have gone up from Rs.15,000 to Rs.40,000.

Prof. A. K. : Even petrol prices have gone up.

Warden : Swami has permitted solar hot water system to be installed shortly in
our Hostel. That would help us tremendously. Presently, we are heating the
water with kerosene.

Swami : (To Brindavan Warden, Sri B. N. Narasimhamurthy) Are your boys taking
sponge bath or regular bath?

B. Warden : Even today I told them that they should take care of their health.

Swami : But some boys cannot take bath when they are unwell because it is cold.

B. Warden : Generally boys take bath, except sick boys. Two geysers can be
arranged for them. Food is very good in the canteen, Swami.

Swami : Do they give you separately?

B. Warden : No, Swami. Along with all others. Swami is giving concessional
coupons.

Swami : (Smiling) In Brindavan Hostel, milk is white water!

B. Warden : Now we are getting from the Niligiris dairy. Swami, it is better.

Swami : Here, the milk yielding cows are 100. Non-yielding cows and old cows
are 400.

Prof A. K. : For 75th Birthday so much milk is required, Swami.

B. Warden : For 70th Birthday, milk came in tanks.

Swami : (To Prasanthi Nilayam Campus Principal, Prof. U. S. Rao) Who is staying
with your brother and taking care of him?

Principal : His family members, Swami.

Swami : Where are they staying?

Principal : Near the Hospital in some known person’s house.

Swami : Good.

B. Warden : In Whitefield Hospital, daily 700-800 patients come, Swami. Many
specialists come to treat the patients.

Swami : What specialisations?

B. Warden : Eye Specialists, Gynaecology, Plastic Surgery, Orthopaedics, Swami.

Swami : They are doing a good job.

Warden : Dr. Shankar comes from that Hospital on Sundays to treat our boys at
Prasanthi Nilayam.

Swami : Yes.

Prof. A. K. : It seems he goes to Muddenahalli, Brindavan and Prasanthi Nilayam.

Warden : Yes, Swami.

B. Warden : Swami, we can have Bhajans also here only.

Swami : (Getting up) No need.

Prof. A. K. : Ok Swami, please sit for some more time. You are blessing boys
and devotees with Your Darshan.

Swami : Manchidi (Good).

Saying so, Swami went back to the interview room.
