The rose plant can be compared to life.
Full of thorns?
Roses are divine love.
Its beauty and fragrance are both divine.
Thorns are nothing but ego.
Look, even if one small thorn enters your foot,
It hurts.
Why?
Ego hurts. Love does not.
Ego is not your true nature.
Be a gardener.
Cultivate your very own rose plant with love.
Pour pure water over it for it to grow.
When the roses bloom, offer all of them at My feet.
I will accept all that you give with true love;
It is our love for each other,
That connects you and Me.
Love is not to keep, but to give.
So, give, give, give and take back loadfuls.
From: Sai Darshan by Seema Dewan
The question must be asked of every person who cares for the body, " For what
purpose are you caring for this body? What is it you hope to achieve?" The body
is the sheath, the scabbard for the sword, the Soul, the "I" that is within it.
The purpose of the "I" is to discover the Unity of the Universe. When you say
this is the Auditorium, you see this Auditorium as one, though it is really a
co-mingling of many - pillars, trusses, sheets, bricks, mortar, nuts, bolt and
paint. You feel you are one though you are an organization of knowledge, hands,
feet, head, muscle, nerve, eye, tongue, teeth etc. So, also, the Universe is
but ‘One’, though you may be able to distinguish stars and planets, rock, tree
and birds, birch, ant and antler in it. Whatever there is, all is Brahman or
God. Realization of this great truth is the only purpose of man.
