????????????????????? SAISA WOMEN'S SINGLE-HANDED CHAMPIO ???????????????????????????????????? U.S.F. ?????????????????????????????? September 27, 2008 ???????????????????????????????? FINAL RESULTS REGATTA HIGHLIGHTS: Ten sailors from four schools competed at the SAISA Women's Single-handed Championships Saturday, Sept. 27. Racing started in a dying northeasterly, and three modified windward- leewards were sailed before lunch. Racing was postponed onshore for three hours, and a feeble seabreeze tried to build late afternoon, but fought unsuccessfully against a southeasterly flow, and eventually both died out. Finally, the northeasterly returned just in time for two final races. Into the final race, there was a 3-way tie for first between Kim Witkowski, Shannon Heausler, and Emilie Mademann. Kim won, with Shannon second, but Emilie lost out to Allie Blecher, who claims the third spot at ICSA Single-handed Nationals.
