Racing started at 10:45 in a light north easterly and the breeze slowly veered
to the southeast for the first 3 races. It was tricky sailing for the
competitors since the typical Charleston current was charging as well.
Eventually the breeze settled in with a nice 8-12 mph seabreeze and a slack
tide. The remaining 9 races were sailed and finished by 3:30pm with only one
breakdown. The Charleston Cougars sailed well for their 1,2 overall finish
(Clerc Cooper and Beka Schiff)with Dominique Wright from USF in third. Thanks
to the Cougar team for their help in running a great and smooth event! Thanks
too to Ned Goss our illustrious dockmaster in making sure our boats and
facilities were all set to go! Tomorrow (Sunday) we start the dinghy fleet
championship and we look forward to another great day.
