I too have been following the emails on Saligaonet. In fact I switch on my computer just to read the updates on the Mobile tower, or the Tower of Babel, as I like to call it – after all it is related to talk. J In this email I wish to thank M&M for the stance they have taken in this regard. The way they answer the emails point by point, painstakingly, with no malice, is noteworthy. Time and again over the years they have always raised their voice for issues related to the common good, even if they were isolated, and sometimes even attacked over their stand. Their history does speak well of them. I know this must be difficult for them because it concerns one with whom they were close as a family and even shared common causes. The work they are doing, in bringing to light the mysteries of the mobile tower and being the eyes, ears and voice of the community is great. My own feeling regarding this tower is with the people. Initially I too felt the same way – the shock, the anger, the surprise as to how the tower group could be so blind and so deaf. Enough said about my feelings. I sincerely hope that Ashley, Cyril and Venas who wish to benefit the village of Saligao will consider the community’s wishes, stop all further construction and please do consider the alternative sites as proposed in M&M’s email dated 2nd March. After all, if your objective is to want to do good for Saligao, it shouldn’t matter if the tower is shifted, should it? The shifting of the tower would result in harmony within the community and still serve the purpose of a better communication system. Do think about it – please.
