Dear Ashley, Nice one!
* In case of any liability linked with this project, who would would be responsible? The Delaney Family that leased the land and gets paid for it, or Demello Telepower Pvt Ltd (DTPL) that earns from the tower. Or both? * Are you too an "unruly element" when you keep reminding us of the hazards of e-wastes and hold campaigns for their safety disposal? * Would it also be "slander or defamation" to call this the Delaney-family-leased-land-on-which-the-Demello-Telepower-Pvt-Ltd-is-building-a-mobile-phone-tower, in short DFLLOWTDTPLIBAMPT? Pontius Pilate did some hand-washing years ago. But that doesn't mean that history has forgotten the political role that he played. FN * * * http://www.targetgoa.com/newsd-No-such-thing-as-Delaney-mobile-phone-tower-says-Delaney-family-3674 No such thing as 'Delaney mobile phone tower' says Delaney family 2012-04-16 [PRESS RELEASE] This press note has been written by the Delaney family to clarify about misleading press notes that have been circulated on the Internet and to the media about a mobile phone tower that is being constructed in part of our land in Abreovaddo Saligao. The press note calls this tower “the Delaney mobile phone tower”. This is wrong for the reasons as stated below: The Delaney family DO NOT own the mobile tower but only the land. The Delaney Family has leased part of the land out to Demello Telepower Pvt Ltd, (DTPL) represented by its Director Mr Cyril Demello, for a period of 20 years from 15/12/11. As such the right lawful owners of the land are Demello Telepower Pvt Ltd. Demello Telepower has taken all permissions for the mobile tower in its name and none of these permissions are in the Delaney family name. Demello Telepower is also in the process of erecting this tower. We have been given to understand by DTPL who has shown us court documents that the court has allowed the work to resume, but still we have requested DTPL that work be stalled for some time since people's sentiments have been whipped up by unruly elements bent on hurting our family. There are almost 9000 + mobile towers in the state of Goa owned by various companies like Indus, BSNL etc. We are yet to see a single one of these towers being called by the name of the owners of the land. As such, we would request the members of the press to avoid the use of the name "Delaney" in press releases as it is wrong and misleading. Such misuse of our name amounts to slander or defamation. The owners of the tower DTPL, will be issuing a separate press release from their side to clarify misleading matters from their end.
