Dear Annette,
Thank you very much for your warm wishes on my 42nd ordination anniversary I
was quite sick a few days before the launching of the book " Land of the Sal
Tree. The street near your house and your house is prominent in the book where
I write about your ward as it is very beautifully illustrated by U. Mel D'Souza
Without his drawing the book would be of little value.
I was accompanied by three bodyguards from Margao till Saligao and back to
Margao after the launch of the book " Land of the Sal Tree" at Saligao Church.
However I met lot of people at the Fama, Mass and Release of the book done by
Fr. Luciano Fernandes, Parish Priest of Saligao . Fr. Avinash Rebello ex-Rector
of Saligao Seminary and now parish priest of Margao accompanied me to Saligao
with another two body guard. I was happy in their company and mixed freely with
the people of Saligao who wished me.
Do kindly give my regards to Ashley and Luwell and the Monteiros from
Loutulim. All of you are daily in my prayers. Much love and a big God bless. I
think I kept the promiss I made some years back to Saliganvkars and you know
about it. Keep well jesus and Mae de Deus whose Novena have began to-day love

Have I got it wrong? I realised that some mails note it as 43rd but I recall
your being ordained in 1970 the year we SIXERS passed our SSC from Lourdes
