This lady, Mother Bridget set up a religious congregation for women in
Karachi, called the Franciscan Missionaries of Christ the King, in times
before Mother Teresa (now St Teresa of Calcutta). She adopted the Indian
sari, a rarity in those days for Catholic nuns! She set up a network of
institutions, including the Lourdes Convent of Saligao, which today has
1400+ students on its rolls. These were nurtured by so many others.
Tomorrow is the school's 75th anniversary! Generations of villagers have
passed through its portals...
