This lady, Mother Bridget set up a religious congregation for women in Karachi, called the Franciscan Missionaries of Christ the King, in times before Mother Teresa (now St Teresa of Calcutta). She adopted the Indian sari, a rarity in those days for Catholic nuns! She set up a network of institutions, including the Lourdes Convent of Saligao, which today has 1400+ students on its rolls. These were nurtured by so many others. Tomorrow is the school's 75th anniversary! Generations of villagers have passed through its portals... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bridget_Sequeira PS: There are other FMCK establishments and initiatives in Moira, Cavelossim, Old Goa, Panjim, etc.... -- FN* फ्रेड्रिक नोरोन्या * فريدريك نورونيا +91-9822122436
