Thanks for the weather update. have been reading & watching the news & got some info from people back home - heavy rain eh?

* Rain fury wreaks havoc in State (GT)
* Rain fury cripples life in Goa. (H)
* CM asks officials to restore basic amenities on
  priority basis. (NT)
* Water at Anjunem dam crosses danger level. (H)
* Caravella, the offshore casino vessel, drifted and was
  grounded near the Panjim-Betim ferry wharf in inclement
  weather conditions late yesterday evening. GT
* Six inches rainfall were reported in Goa in 24 hours. With
  this, Goa's seasonal total rainfall touched 84 inches.GT
* In Margao, around 110 migrants inhabiting the low-lying
  areas near the Khareband bridge were evacuated to the Nehru
  stadium as a precautionary measure, with the River Sal
  flowing in full spate, inundating low-lying areas.
* Around 700-odd mechanised trawlers, netting fish in deep
  sea, had to return half-way due to heavy rains and strong
  wind.
* Fire Service personnel were on their toes attending to
  several calls since last evening. (H)
* While Tiswadi didn't experience heavy damage, fire service
  officials said they had to attend to uprooting of trees.

Are the roads still dug up because of the underground cables?

In the years gone by, the heaviest rains occurred on the Feast of St. Lawrence - 10th August... Is the feast still celebrated in Sinquerim?
